Welcome to Autventures! I am a disabled mom to three wonderful children, the youngest of whom is Autistic. I started this blog because I find writing to be a therapeutic outlet. This blog was initially a forum in which to explore my feelings and experiences parenting my amazing little boy and observing his journey. However, now I also use it to explore my thoughts and feelings about my own disability. In March of 2017, at the age of 31, I was diagnosed with ALS, a neurodegenerative terminal illness. This dramatic change in my life brings with it many emotions, and exploring them in my writing helps me to cope. Thank you for reading and please feel free to comment or reach out to me at: autventures@gmail.com
I love your blog and love the way you write. I also have a 3.5 yo boy with ASD. I’m fairly new to this but getting a hang of everything slowly. How the label of autism isolates me as a parent!

Thank you! I’m sorry you are feeling isolated. I find that embracing the disability community can really make you feel apart of something wonderful, and offer a space with families that you fit in with, when you might feel you no longer fit in with NT families. Best of luck to you!
